Welcome to our “Services” page. Here you will find a listing some of the services we offer here at BCD. We also offer several services that we provide for you through our network of service providers that specialize even further into the restoration business. They may only focus on one or two components of the 1000’s of parts it takes to make up a complete car. Such as distributor and carburetor restorations for the concourse correct finishes that require industrial plating and not just a set of points or a gasket kit.
Turn Key Rotisserie Restorations- Complete Nut and Bolt Refurbishing of your car. This includes a copy of the complete restoration in digital photographs on CD with monthly time and labor sheet documentation. These projects are not for the faint of heart as this can run into well over 1000 hours of labor and 1000’s of dollars in parts and materials.
Partial Restorations- We know that funds to complete a full restoration can be hard to come by. We will work with our customer to group projects in an order of priority as they are related, focusing on safety and drivability. If you only need a part repaired or restored for your project at home we will do that as well. Sometimes the best part you will find is the one that came on the car. It just needs to be brought back to life.
Collision Repair & Insurance Work- In the event you are in a situation where you are in need to have your classic repaired as the result of an accident. You will want to have it repaired by a shop that will look at it more than just another wrecked car. You need a shop that will work closely with the insurance company to bring your car back to a true “pre-accident condition” to protect your investment. You do not want a repair that looks good but still looks like it was wrecked at one time. This will kill your potential resale value.
Pre-Purchase Evaluations- Before you spend any of your hard earned money on that “Dream Car”. We suggest you have an evaluation performed. If you are new to the collector car world or if we are closer to the vehicle you are interested in. For a prediscussed fee, we will travel to or perform an evaluation in house.
Estimates- This
truly is the most difficult part of the business. Each car is so different in
it’s scope of repair. We have a good perspective on what it takes to build a
car. The biggest places where you have cost over runs are in the structural
repair of the unit-body. It is impossible to see through a torque box to see
how far the rail has rusted. So you really want to wait and see what is the
most cost effective way to proceed with the repair. For a written estimate over
a $1000.00, we charge a fee. If that work is completed by B.C.D. Preservations,
Inc., we put that fee towards the repair. No charge for a verbal estimate.
Appraisals- Whether it is for insurance values or if sadly you have come to the decision that you are going to sell. We can provide you with a written appraisal based on our years of knowledge, condition of your car, and current market value publications. For a prediscussed fee, we will travel to or perform in house.
Deficiency Inspection/Report- We offer these at any level or condition your car might be in. We use originality as a base line to let you know what you have. We will do a visual only inspection or the whole vehicle top to bottom front to back. From this inspection, we will generate a hard copy of any and all issues we see. Paint, body, engine and drive train, interior, glass, chrome and trim. From this list and with our recommendations you can choose which issues you might want to address. We keep a close eye on safety and structural items. For a prediscussed fee, we will travel to or perform in house.
Service Work- We can perform any repair or maintenance work you might need. Chassis & Suspension, Brakes, Engine & Driveline, Glass adjustment, Electrical and Interior or any cosmetic items you desire. Oil changes to front end alignments, tune up and drivability issues. Failed a state inspection? We will get you through. We love “Driver Cars”!
Upgrades- Wish your car had air conditioning? Wish it were a 5-speed overdrive? Want power disc brakes or power steering? Wish that 6 cylinder was a V8? Wish you had dual exhaust with that really cool rear valance you saw on a car at the show? Shelby Clone? We can make any upgrade to your vehicle that you can think of.
Parts Locator Service & Sales- We can locate hard to find parts or provide just about any current aftermarket reproduction part on the market today as well as parts for upgrades. We sell Scott Drake, AMK, KYB, Petronix, Master Power, SSBC, Shafer’s Classic Reproductions, Motorcraft, RetroSound, Just Dashes, Carroll Shelby Licensing, TMI & Distinctive to name a few. We have installed most of what we sell and can offer advice and information to you if you are installing yourself.
Sub Contractor Work- These items would be things like Engine Machine work and balancing, chrome and powder coat plating, carburetor and distributor restorations. Some other miscellaneous items are front-end alignments and custom made exhaust systems. All work performed by our sub-contractors are warranted by BCD.
