After their first meeting at a local cruise night, and several conversations between Ken Cannon and Ernest Baynum, it was obvious that there was common interest. For one classic cars, especially the Ford Mustang, and another was the desire to one day own and operate a Mustang restoration and repair shop. It also became obvious that we both shared a passion and the tenacity that is required to take on the sometimes overwhelming task of a complete restoration. All that was needed now was a place to work, someone to believe in our dream and turn us loose on their car. That person for us was Mike Davis. He had the space, and a car that needed work. What you see on the following pages are the results of the three of us working together, each bringing their own talents, skills, and resources to form BCD.

 BCD Preservations, Inc. was founded June 3, 1997 as a part-time business. We reinvested every dollar we made back into the business for equipment and the tools needed to do the work quickly and effectively, all the while adding to our collective 50 years of Mustang knowledge. As a personal challenge, we both received our MCA Judging certificates in 65 through 68 Mustangs. Finally, after over four years working part time, it was time to go full time. Over that time we were able to surround ourselves with quality parts vendors and sub-contractors, where needed, to produce the quality results that we felt comfortable with, and spoke for itself. We have always said, “ We don’t do show cars … we do cars that show well”.

We specialize in 1964 ½ through 1973 Mustang and Shelby restoration, parts sales, upgrades, and routine maintenance, as well as several other services. Be sure to look at our “Services” page.  We are not limited to only Mustang and Shelby models. We have had several other manufacturers and models in for repairs over the years. Again, be sure to look at our “Service Corral” for pictures of some of our client’s rides. Some of our customers are very diverse car collectors and we are often asked to maintain other vehicles in their collection, as they do not want a “flat rate” mechanic working on their pride and joy.

As a result of our passion for what we do, we have been blessed with several awards at the local and national levels. We personally, and our clients, have participated in shows in DE, MD, VA, DC, PA, NJ, NC, TN. Resulting in AACA, MCA Silver & Gold and an Award of Excellence, SAAC Div II Silver & Gold and several 1,2,3, awards and Peoples Choice awards. These awards were not so much our goal, but the result of our commitment to our customers to do the best we can.
